ACA Level 3 Coastal Kayaking IDW & ICE Workshops

The ACA Level 3 (L3) Instructor Workshops teaches and assesses participants on their ability to teach, manage a group and risk manage in L3 conditions: 10-15 knot winds, 1-2’ seas, 1-2’ breaking waves and 1-2 knots of current.

There are two components to ACA Instructor Certification: the Instructor Development Workshop (IDW - a three day training) followed at a later date by the Instructor Certification Evaluation (ICE - a two day testing). Participation in each workshop is necessary to complete the ACA Kayak Instructor Certification process. The time between the IDW and ICE allows candidates to further develop and refine their Instructor skills. In our experience, this leads to greater skilled and more confident candidates who have better success during the ICE.
