, the heavy snow is up to 10″. Its been a spring that has been persisted. It is interesting for me as I don’t have anything to train early for this season. Some years I have done an instructor workshop by now which means, no matter the weather, I am out there.
Cold weather paddling is unique. From all the photos we put up from our first paddles, I think that shows. The rediscovering of paddling on open water again as well as the magic of the ice.
Magic is in the shapes the ice takes but also in seeing how subtle weather changes affects the ice. Below is a photo from the gallery. Click on it to see a series of photos and a couple of videos from some of the paddles around the ice.
Given the forecast, the ice will be around for a bit longer and there will be more magic.
